The annual East Woods Spring Fair weekend was kicked-off with a spectacular dinner dance and auction held on the waterfront at the Seawanhaka Corinthian Yacht Club on Centre Island on Friday, May 16.
The storm of the previous night gave way to radiant sunshine and smiling faces all around as the celebration and fun continued on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 at the East Woods Spring Fair. No small fair, the Spring Fair boasted plenty of rides for children of every age. The Ferris Wheel, Giant Slide, Scat, Dizzy Dragons, Starship, Sizzler, Merry Go Round and Bumper Cars were among the favorites.
The “Kiddie Carnival” section of the fair was also a big hit, with sand art and prize-awarding games. Many children—and adults—were seen toting around brightly-colored stuffed animals and various treasures that served as proof of a fun filled day.
The fair wasn’t only for the children. There were beautiful items at the indoor vendor boutiques and amazing, one-of-a-kind finds at the now famous East Woods Estate Sale. The East Woods “Gazebo” tent sold a beautiful assortment of spring plants and flowers.
The Spring Fair guests were treated to live music by three different bands throughout the weekend: Lost Time, Riptide Blues Band and ‘60s Invasion. Their enthusiastic performances were the perfect background for the guests eating their delicious lunches from the Bistro.
Perhaps most impressive of all is that this entire weekend was run by East Woods parent volunteers. The Spring Fair could not happen without their vision, dedication and hard work.
East Woods was thrilled to host all of its friends, families and neighbors for a weekend of fun, laughs, good food, good buys and a great time.
